Experience

Zdeněk studied teaching in Ostrava in a combination of History and Civics. He then continued to study law at Palacky University of Olomouc. During his studies, he worked as an assistant in the teaching of the relations of the Czechoslovak Republic 1918-2000, helped in the preparation of the Legal English textbook and also worked for the Olomouc Publishing House, where he helped in the preparation of several books and textbooks for teaching OV. He began his teaching career as a teacher of secondary education at the Slovanské Gymnasium in Olomouc and later also as a teacher of secondary education and history at the Secondary Vocational School in Řepčín. He then moved to Ostrava, where he studied subjects such as Humanities, Social Studies, History and Geography at the bilingual primary school and kindergarten of Ostrčilova. After establishing the Ostrava PORG, he started as a History and Civics teacher. During his time there, he also taught Humanities and History. He is also a qualified teacher in the IB Diploma in History programme. He became an important PORG International team member as a Social Studies teacher in 2023.

Interests

Zdeněk likes to read, especially fantasy and science fiction (space operas and mainly various stories from alternative realities), but he does not disdain an excellent historical novel either. He is particularly interested in the history of war conflicts and all kinds of weapons from human history. He likes various board games, especially strategy games, role-playing games, and card games. He is not very sporty, but he enjoys archery. He also likes to travel around our homeland and visit all kinds of castles, chateaux, and ruins.
