It’s been a big day for some kindergarten pupils as they enrol for Year 1 in September!
They have been developing all kinds of skills ready for this day – kindergarten is not just about playing! They have learned things we take for granted as adults, like how to hold a pencil or tie shoelaces and we forget how much effort it takes to do these things well for the first time.
Basic motor skills are not all though. They came today to show that they have the necessary level of maths and English to begin their primary education. Can they pay attention to something for the length of a lesson? Can they work nicely with others?
It was obvious that these children have had excellent teachers in kindergarten, though. They all performed amazingly well and we are looking forward to having a talented and enthusiastic Year 1 in September!
