Our first semester has nearly finished and, as is our custom, we have held our annual ski course.
As every year, we have been lucky to have our course run by Skalka Family Park on the edge of Ostrava, a 15 minute journey from the school.
As an international school, it is not unusual that the first time our pupils attend the course is the first time they have ever worn skis. In many cases, their first winter with us is the first time they have even seen snow!
As well as complete beginners, we have quite a few pupils who have been to the course before and are improving their skills each year. There is always something new to learn and something to improve, so no matter how high their level, the children always finish better than they started.
The instructors all had excellent English skills and endless patience, which were invaluable in building the children’s confidence. For parents who would like to make a skiing holiday part of their experience of living in the Czech Republic, our ski course certainly gives children who are new to the sport a solid foundation!
