Pupils and staff have just arrived back from this year’s School In Nature… tired and a bit dirty but full of positive energy.
School In Nature is our annual week away in the mountains, where we find practical uses for all the knowledge we have built up over the school year.
Younger pupils might be spending their first prolonged period away from their parents but they have the support of their friends as they adapt to their new adventure.
Older pupils who have done this before become mentors and assume leadership roles as they help the younger ones find their feet.
Over the week, we watch as their team spirit, self confidence, esteem and resilience grows. Taken out of the day-to-day school setting, they begin to take more and more responsibility for themselves and we see their maturity grow visibly in just a few short days.
Our activities ranged from swimming, art and sports to hiking in the hills and solving complex puzzles and problems to win points for their teams.
