Experience
Barbora brings over two decades of educational experience, shaped by international study, classroom teaching, and leadership. She holds a degree in Primary Pedagogy and English Language from the University of Ostrava. During her studies, she spent time in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable teaching experience with children aged 2 to 11 and deepening her knowledge of the English language. She later expanded her expertise in educational technology at Jönköping University in Sweden, where she studied IT for educators and web design.
She began her teaching career in Ostrava-Vítkovice, where she taught primary school subjects and English to students in both primary and secondary schools. As a self-employed educator, she also collaborated with language schools and companies, teaching English mostly to youth and adult students. In 2011, she joined the founding academic team at PORG Ostrava as a primary teacher.
In 2018, she completed the “How to Teach Programming in Primary School” course by Raspberry Pi (UK) and began leading Code Club at PORG International School. Barbora became Head of PORG International School and the Bilingual Kindergarten in March 2020. Since September 2023, she has focused solely on leading the international school, supported by the leadership skills gained during her MBA studies at Cambridge Business School in Prague.
Under her leadership, the school has transformed into a vibrant, multicultural community characterised by respect, inclusion, and high academic achievement. Barbora is deeply dedicated to cultivating a nurturing and ambitious environment where every child is known, supported, and challenged to realise their full potential.
Barbora continues to lead PORG International School with integrity, innovation, and a strong sense of purpose, ensuring that the school prepares students for life in a multicultural, connected, modern world. Her leadership is characterised by clarity of vision, collaborative decision-making, and an unwavering focus on student outcomes. She actively supports staff professional development and is passionate about embedding best practices from the British education system, in connection with those from the Czech system, to maintain high standards across all key stages.
Interests
Downhill skiing, alpine hiking, swimming, music and playing the piano are all activities when Barbora gets her energy up and relaxes. And when there is a little more time, she travels anywhere in the Czech or abroad. Her favourite countries are the United Kingdom and Greece. She likes the most spending her free time with her family and friends.
