Barbora graduated from the University of Ostrava. During her studies of primary pedagogy and the English language, she visited the United Kingdom, where she devoted herself intensively to learning English as a second language and worked with children aged 2 to 11. She also studied IT for educators and web design in Sweden at Jönköping University. While still studying, after returning from abroad, she started teaching English part-time in primary and secondary in the ice-hockey elementary school in Ostrava Vítkovice. After completing her studies, she worked full-time there as an English language and primary teacher. She also worked as a self-employed, collaborated with language schools and companies, and lectured, gaining rich experience teaching English to adults and children. After eight years, she went on maternity leave but continued lecturing English. After maternity leave, she became a member of the pedagogical team of PORG Ostrava and had the excellent opportunity to be there from the beginning of school. In 2018, she successfully completed the How to teach programming in primary school course organised by Raspberry Pi, Cambridge, UK, and started collaborating with PORG International school as a Code club leader. Barbora extended her professional portfolio by studying English for higher secondary at Charles University, Prague.
In March 2020, Barbora became the head of PORG International school. In addition to her rich personal and pedagogical experience, she is using leadership the management skills she acquired during her MBA studies at Cambridge Business school, Prague.
She is also in the position of Head of the PORG Ostrava Bilingual Kindergarten. With the entire pedagogical team, she is actively developing kindergarten and has an opportunity to use her experience gained abroad to care for preschool children.
Barbora attended many continuing professional development programs. In 2002, she got the Rotary Young Leadership Award. She has TKT certificates Modul 1, 2, 3, and CLIL awarded by Cambridge University Press & Assessment English department.
Downhill skiing, alpine hiking, swimming, music and playing the piano are all activities when Barbora gets her energy up and relaxes. And when there is a little more time, she travels anywhere in the Czech or abroad. Her favourite countries are the United Kingdom and Greece. She likes the most spending her free time with her family and friends.
