The greatest adventure of the school year has come!
Starting in September, the children get to know each other and the school environment. They learn to work together and look after one another. By the time June comes around, we see rising self-confidence and emerging leaders in our classrooms. School In Nature aims to give a huge boost to those qualities and send the children off to summer holidays with a greater level of maturity.
This year was perhaps our most successful yet. We saw many examples of older pupils helping younger ones, both emotionally and physically. We saw a level of teamwork and cooperation which made us proud as teachers. We saw children take responsibility for themselves and others in their teams. We saw…. well, why not take a look at our photo albums on Facebook and see for yourselves! There is an album for each day, starting with Day 1.
Next year we may even run two camps. The aim would be to start the year with an activity which will nurture a sense of belonging to a team, develop responsibility and leadership early on and let the children see that they can exceed their own expectations before we make a serious start in the classroom. Watch this space!
