PORG Story Slam 2023

PORG Ostrava Grammar School held its second annual story telling competition on Tuesday October 31st. The theme of this competition was „The wrong place at the wrong time“ and our competing students had the task of telling a 5-minute true story connected with this theme.

The competition provides students with the opportunity to both practice their public speaking skills and build up their self-esteem. Students must show their ability to narrate a story that they had over a month to prepare. Not only were they tasked with keeping to a 5-minute limit, but they were also penalized for every 20 seconds they went over or under this limit. In addition, they were judged on their ability to use good story structure and to engage the audience using their body language and voice.

This year’s winners were (from first to third place): Karolina Matečková, Barbora Haplová, and Tadeaš Krajdl.
