On March 25, 2026, three students from our school – Sofie Zara Minton, Oskar Pytel, and Linda Vrbová – took part in a simulation of the European Parliament at Matiční Gymnázium in Ostrava.
During the event, students assumed the roles of Members of the European Parliament, engaging in debates, negotiations, and voting on key issues such as migration policy and the protection of minors in the digital environment. Working within political groups, they practiced argumentation, public speaking, and teamwork in a realistic parliamentary setting.
The simulation offered a valuable opportunity to experience how European decision-making works firsthand – proving that politics is not just about speeches, but also about compromise, strategy, and a bit of behind-the-scenes diplomacy.
All three students will continue to represent PORG Ostrava in April as part of the school’s delegation to PORGMUN 2026 in Prague. We wish them lots of success!
