On Thursday, March 26, PORG Ostrava hosted its annual Voices of Poetry recital competition, bringing together talented students from across the lower gymnázium.
Following class rounds, selected students competed in the school round in two categories. Category I featured students from Prima and Sekunda, while Category II included students from Tercie and Kvarta. Participants performed memorized poems by well-known authors, demonstrating impressive confidence, pronunciation, and expressive delivery.
In Category I, Anna Babicová took first place with her performance of Be Glad Your Nose Is on Your Face by Jack Prelutsky. Second place went to Kristýna Maralíková, and third place to Kira Tarielašvili.
In Category II, first place was awarded to Elen Chlebovská for her powerful recital of The Day After You Take Your Life by Hayley Grace. Second place was shared by Matylda Hudeček and Olivie Matináková, while third place went to Veronika Vojtěchovská.
We are incredibly proud of all students who took part—not only those who placed, but everyone who had the courage to stand up and perform. After all, no one wins without first stepping onto the stage.
