Praxe

Mélanie Rada is a Venezuelan/Canadian/Czech educator with degrees in English Literature, Education, Theatre, and Fine Arts. Backed with such resource material, she strives to design experiential lessons that reach her students in creative ways while aiming to consistently ask questions in order to challenge themselves and further their intellectual capabilities. Melanie has taught English and Spanish Language and Literature as well as Theatre and Fine Arts in both Canada and the Czech Republic. She has also taught Literature and Theatre Arts at the IB and IGCSE levels as well as created curricula for English and art departments in private schools and institutions both in Canada and The Czech Republic. Currently, Melanie is also the co-creator and artistic director of the Prague-based performance arts company „Akanda“. She is also a wellness and yoga instructor and is finishing her Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition. Her aim is to continue deepening her knowledge and eventually publishing a book that will relate to these fields.

Melanie enjoys adventures and food. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that she loves the thrill of traveling to remote parts of the world in order to experience culture through food and the mythologies behind it. Melanie currently resides in a house in the middle of the woods by the Sazava river where she enjoys harvesting vegetables that her husband cultivates in their garden and making tasty experiments with it. She also enjoys reading with her cats after a few hours on her yoga mat. She usually reads three books at a time and can never name an ultimate favourite author, though recently she seems to have had a special fondness towards the works of Haruki Murakami.
