Praxe

During and after his Psychology studies, Marian tried to pursue several career pathways. He was working as the smoking addiction counselor on Smoking Quitline for 3 years, was Drug prevention specialist for 6 years, worked as a school psychologist for 2 years, worked as assistant for adults with Cerebral palsy for 2 years, had Psychotherapy training for 4 years and worked with several clients as a counsellor, but in the end has decided for an academic career. He is now working at the department of Psychology on Charles University Faculty of Education as a researcher specializing in Nicotine Addiction studies in cooperation with the 1st Faculty of Medicine on Charles University and teaching Psychology courses for future teachers of Social sciences (“ZSV”). In the end, he enjoys his teacher role the most. He combines his academic Psychology background and experiences in Counseling and practical Psychology to form his specific teaching style, which is a perfect fit for the subject like IB Psychology, which Marian very much enjoys teaching from 2017.

Zájmy

In almost all of his free time, Marian manages together with his partner dance school Mauritius & Elvira Bachata Prague (as his alter ego Mauritius), teaching several group and private classes every week, organizing regular Bachata dance parties and international Bachata events. Playing chess, board games, swimming (especially in the sea) and watching Disney movies are his other favourite activities, if some spare time is left after dancing.
